Grassroot Soccer Launches New Theory of Change
April 22, 2026
As the world continues to change, so too does Grassroot Soccer (GRS). To ensure we are responding to adolescents’ most pressing needs and equipping them with the health knowledge, mentorship, and life skills they need to thrive, we continually interrogate and refine our holistic approach to adolescent health.
To that end, Grassroot Soccer (GRS) recently embarked on an intensive 18-month process that has culminated today in the launch of our new organizational Theory of Change.
This Theory of Change describes how the core activities GRS implements across its geographies create impact – connecting the challenges in adolescent health that we tackle, to the activities we deliver, and through to the long-term outcomes we seek in the world.
The Theory of Change was developed through a multi-stage process that involved a participatory in-person workshop along with reviews and discussions with internal stakeholders from across GRS priority geographies.
Young people were involved in every step of the process – including members of GRS’s Youth Advisory Committee (YAC), as representatives of the young people and Coaches with whom GRS works – to ensure that our Theory of Change reflects the perspectives of adolescents themselves.
This Theory of Change is a living document that will evolve over the years as we continually strive to ensure that our work is driving the change we seek to see in communities around the world.
