Kunda Mwitwa

Partnerships Program Coordinator

Kunda Mwitwa is a passionate and enthusiastic youth advocate from Lusaka, Zambia who supports Grassroot Soccer’s Global Partnerships team as Program Coordinator. Kunda began her Grassroot Soccer journey as a SKILLZ participant, where she learned health and life skills lessons that became a big part of her life, and was inspired to become a Coach herself. In 2017, Kunda joined Grassroot Soccer as a SKILLZ Coach, taking on the role of sharing information around adolescent health and building positive behaviors for both in-school and out-of-school adolescents and young people.

Kunda is passionate about gender-related issues and specifically gender equality. She was a speaker at a health innovation event at the 2022 FIFA Men’s World Cup organized by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where she amplified the work that Grassroot Soccer Coaches do around the world and shared the stage with soccer stars such as David Beckham, Didier Drogba, and Micheal Essien.

Kunda has served as a Local Programs Coordinator with Grassroot Soccer Zambia, assisting program coordinators and Coaches on site while implementing SKILLZ activities. She also served as Programs Intern, where she contributed to the growth of the organization by actively supporting day-to-day SKILLZ activities, Coach training, and home visits. Beyond her work for Grassroot Soccer, Kunda uses her social media platforms as well as radio and TV appearances to address issues around HIV, mental health, and adolescent health, making a positive impact in her community.
