Founder, Thandeka Travel
Erin Summe is the founder of Thandeka Travel, an Africa-based company that connects impact investors directly with local organizations addressing clean energy, healthcare, education and employment. Through intimate immersions, Thandeka nurtures dialogues between funders and communities with the aim of better understanding the challenges and potential solutions of each unique context. In partnership with the UBS Optimus Foundation, Thandeka trips have facilitated over $25mm of investment into social enterprises on the continent over 4 years. In 2020 Erin launched Thandeka Capital a platform that mobilizes capital into the green economy by connecting climate technology funds with like-minded investors looking to align their portfolios alongside the planet. The company supports innovative teams focused on sustainable agriculture, circular economies and renewable energy with the goal of connecting them with strategic partners. Erin previously spent 5 years at Morgan Stanley as a trader in Equity Derivatives and 3 years in South Africa working with Grassroot Soccer, a non-profit that empowers at-risk adolescents to become agents of change. Erin studied Economics at Georgetown University and received her MBA from London Business School.
