Anje Pretorius

Anje leads Grassroot Soccer’s Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) function, setting the strategic direction for how data are collected, analyzed, and used to drive learning, accountability, and impact across the organization’s global programs. She has over 15 years of experience designing and leading MEL systems in adolescent health, HIV prevention, sexual and reproductive health, and mental health. Prior to joining Grassroot Soccer, Anje served as Monitoring & Evaluation Director at TB HIV Care, where she led large-scale digital transformation initiatives, integrated mobile tools into MEL systems, and partnered with academic institutions on implementation research.

Anje holds a Master’s degree in Monitoring and Program Evaluation from the University of Cape Town and is passionate about using data as a practical tool for learning, innovation, and improved outcomes for young people. Anje is based in Franskraal, South Africa.
