Yared Belete

Yared Belete is Grassroot Soccer’s Partnerships Program Manager, Ethiopia, based in Addis Ababa.

Prior to joining GRS, Yared worked with UNDP Ethiopia where he managed a project supporting government institutions and led the communication portfolio of the Governance department. He also worked as an HIV program coordinator with Peace Corps Ethiopia, including providing GRS SKILLZ training and technical guidance to PCV and counterparts, on-site project/activity reviews, and monitoring and evaluation. Yared’s experience also includes working at PEPFAR Ethiopia at the US Embassy coordinating programs across US agencies, host government, and implementing partners.

Yared holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from Mahatma Gandhi University, India and a postgraduate diploma in Communication, with various training and experience in behavioral change communication, sexual and reproductive health, and project management. He is passionate about data and connecting dots to shed light and present analysis. In his spare time, Yared gives back to the community by volunteering in fundraising and coordination at church Sunday school and local organizations.
