In November, Grassroot Soccer was delighted to welcome U.S. Women’s National Team Forward, World Cup Champion, Olympian, and GRS Pro Ambassador Christen Press to our site in Khayelitsha, South Africa for a four-day visit. During the visit, Press was able to share her experiences as a world-class footballer with GRS Coaches and participants, while simultaneously getting an in-depth immersion into how our programs work. In particular, much of the visit focused on how Grassroot Soccer is working with young women and girls to address issues of gender equality, gender-based violence, sexual health and HIV, while creating a safe and supportive environment in which to thrive.
