Events & Corporate Partnerships Manager

Role Overview

The Events & Corporate Partnerships Manager will drive revenue and growth while contributing to the highly collaborative, positive, and action-oriented culture at GRS. Reporting to the Senior Director of Development (SDoD), the Events & Corporate Partnerships Manager is responsible for the development, planning, and execution of all GRS events and corporate partnerships strategy to contribute to the growth of unrestricted revenue critical to the mission and innovative work of GRS. The Events & Corporate Partnerships Manager will develop and execute strategies to manage GRS events, including a high-profile annual gala, as well as corporate partnerships as they relate to events and other engagement opportunities, including sponsorships, in-kind support, employee engagement, etc. The successful candidate is an excellent project manager, learning-agile, relationship-focused, and execution-oriented with a keen attention to detail. They have high emotional intelligence and are wired for, and comfortable with, working with high-net-worth individuals, talent, vendors, and key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Responsible for the development, management, and execution of events, including but not limited to GRS’s signature, high-profile annual gala ($1M), and growing unrestricted net event revenue.
  • Plan and manage all event elements according to GRS brand, requirements, target audience, and objectives in collaboration with key internal teams and stakeholders
  • Prepare and manage event budgets, consultants, vendors, and key contracts; source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to ensure high-quality work and adherence to budget.

Specifications & Competencies

  • 3-5 years of events experience with a proven track record executing events from signature, high-profile galas with committee leadership structures to intimate hosted gatherings, ideally in a mission-driven non-profit.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in event planning and management, including negotiating contracts, working with event consultants and vendors, and managing a complex event budget.
  • Experience identifying corporate partners, finding and cultivating the appropriate internal champion, and customizing approach and solicitation to secure funding/partnership that benefits both parties.
