Bantu Rover match report for 24th October 2011

BANTU ROVERS F.C vs ZPC HWANGE F.C
The Bantu game plan was to attack ZPC at high tempo, because we knew they would play negative football since a draw was good for them to maintain the third position. The idea was to retain possession of the ball consistently and be quick on movement in attack so that we can score as early as possible and put pressure on them.Thereafter we wanted to slow down the pace and frustrate them until the final whistle by stretching them wide.Unfortunately,we did not get into the final third in numbers to penetrate them and get a goal. We controlled the first half in terms of possession but conceded a soft goal towards the end of the first half. In the second half, we came back with a positive mind  and Johannes Ngozo dropped back  into a holding midfield role and pushed Nqobizitha  Masuku further forward and although he got into the box a lot he could not find the back of the net despite several attempts on target. We created numerous scoring chances but we were not patient enough. We eventual equalised with five minutes remaining only to concede a second goal two minutes later due to poor communication at the back .  Modern football is about playing consistently until the final whistle and Bantu paid the price for lack of concentration in the dying minutes.

The final score: Bantu Rovers F.C 1, ZPC Hwange 2.

The scorer being Johannes Ngozo from the penalty spot after a foul on Moodley Njeleza.  Bantu finished fourth on the log and ZPC finished third.
