Bantu Rovers put up a polished performance at Hartsfield Stadium to register an emphatic 4-0 victory over local rivals Makokoba City Warriors.

Veteran midfielder Johannes Ngozo opened the scoring in the 17th minute when he reacted swiftly to a Moodley Njeleza effort that was parried onto the bar by the City Warriors goalkeeper and fell right into his path.  Bantu controlled the play the rest of the half and had a “goal” disallowed after a tap in from a cross from the otherwise subdued Kudakwashe Mahachi.  City Warriors hung on to keep the score at one nil at half time.

The second half started at a frenetic pace with Bantu scoring through the fast improving Mthulisi Nkomo in the first minute of the second half.  Captain Edwin Nkomo disposed a Warriors forward before dispatching a long ball behind the opposition defense that Nkomo latched to and raced to place the ball beyond the reach of the keeper.  Bantu controlled the rest of the half and were assured of maximum points with goals from Moodley Njeleza and a second from Mthulisi Nkomo.

With the win Bantu moved up to third place in the league standings.  Tshintsha Guluva face Mpumalanga at their favorite hunting ground, Hartsfield Stadium, on Sunday.
